Patient
Hi, thank you for taking my call. I've been experiencing some troubling symptoms and I'm feeling really concerned. Could you please help me figure out what might be going on?
Triage Assistant
Sure, I can help with that. Where does it hurt?
Patient
It's not so much pain, but I've been feeling very nauseous and weak.
Triage Assistant
Thank you for the information. I'm going to use a protocol to help assess your symptoms. Please hold on for one moment. I'll be using the "Abdominal Pain - Male" protocol to triage your symptoms.
Triage Assistant
Let's start assessing your symptoms. Where exactly does it hurt?
Patient
Like I mentioned earlier, it's not really pain that's concerning me. It's more about the intense nausea and overall weakness I'm feeling.
Triage Assistant
Understood. When did your symptoms begin?
Patient
The nausea and weakness started yesterday, and they've just been getting worse since then.
Triage Assistant
Got it. Do you feel nauseous constantly, or does it come and go?
Patient
It's pretty constant. There hasn't been much relief since it started.
Triage Assistant
How would you rate the severity of your symptoms from 1 to 10, with 1 being mild discomfort and 10 being severe, debilitating symptoms?
Patient
I'd say it's around an 8. It's really interfering with my ability to do anything.
Triage Assistant
Based on your severe and constant symptoms, I recommend you go to the Emergency Department now. It sounds like you need to be evaluated by a healthcare professional immediately. Lie down with your feet elevated to help with the weakness, and avoid eating or drinking anything until you get medical advice. Thank you for calling, goodbye.
